Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth

Beyond Earth is a great game, but it’s not great in the same way as its inspiration.

With Brave New World, Civilization V not only finally feels complete, but it may in fact be the best way to experience the series.

Gods & Kings is a great expansion, but only because the design of Civilization V was unusual and incomplete.

Despite all of the changes, this is still undeniably a Civilization game.

Colonization is more interesting to think and talk about than to play.

Beyond the Sword is a real expansion that makes the original game bigger and better.

It’s very easy to forget you’re playing Warlords and not the vanilla game.

Civilization continues to improve with each installment.

This is my favourite of the first three Civ titles.
