Mark of the Ninja: Special Edition

Mark of the Ninja: Special Edition

Confusingly, Mark of the Ninja: Special Edition was released as DLC for the original game, which made me question how I should judge it. I decided to do so as a DLC, but the distinction is a moot point anyway, as the whole package recently came out as Mark of the Ninja: Remastered, which you should absolutely play if you haven’t, because it is, without question, the best stealth game ever. It’s indicative of just how good it was that a DLC consisting of only one level and two new items was still worth buying. Those new items are enjoyable without succumbing to power creep, and the new level is complex and moderately difficult in a way that suits the freeform stealth gameplay perfectly. My only complaint is that, with the base game’s sense of completeness and this release’s minimal content, it’s decidedly inconsequential.
